USB 3.1 PCIe card, 4 ports

This PCIe card expands your PC by four fast USB 3.1 Gen1 ports. The USB 3.1 standard, also known as Super Speed, supports very high transfer rates of up to 5 Gbit/s. The additional USB ports enable very efficient use of the connected peripheral devices and offer an ideal opportunity to quickly create backups on an external storage medium. The USB 3.1 standard is fully backwards compatible with the older USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 standards – so older USB devices can also be used without any problems.




What is USB3.1?The USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum), an association of developers of the USB standard, has changed the naming of the third Universal Serial Bus (USB) version from USB 3.0 to USB 3.1.
What is new is the distinction between USB 3.1 Gen1 (Generation 1), the previous USB 3.0 standard, and USB 3.1 Gen2 (Generation 2).
With the USB 3.1 Gen1 standard, the technical specifications remain unchanged from the previous USB 3.0 standard with transfer rates of up to 5 GBit/s. The USB 3.1 Gen2 standard, on the other hand, enables data rates of 10 GBit/s (SuperSpeed Plus), which is twice as fast as USB 3.1 Gen 1.
