Information on battery disposal
In connection with the sale of batteries or the delivery of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:
Batteries must not be disposed of in household waste. You can return used batteries that we currently sell or have previously sold either by sending them back to us at your own expense or by returning them free of charge to our shipping warehouse (shipping address). Alternatively, you can hand in the batteries at local collection points. As an end user, you are legally required to return used batteries so that they can be properly recycled or disposed of. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment or your health if not stored or disposed of properly. However, batteries also contain important raw materials such as iron, zinc, manganese, or nickel that can be recovered. The symbols shown on the batteries have the following meanings:
The symbol of the crossed-out trash bin means that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries that contain a certain amount of lead, cadmium, or mercury, the following abbreviations under the crossed-out trash bin symbol indicate the respective pollutants:
- Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004 percent lead by mass
- Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002 percent cadmium by mass
- Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005 percent mercury by mass
Information on the costs included in accordance with Article 56(4) of the EU Battery Regulation (Regulation 2023/1542) can be found at the “Batterie-Zurück” initiative. Please observe the above notices.
